In this position you lead a team of 10 scienitsts within the therapeutic area of metabolic complications, in particular kidney disease and fibrosis.Your main duty is to provide scientific, strategic, and operational leadership for the business and your team. You are responsible for staff development and report to the Senior VP In Vivo Pharmacology.
You are an experienced Senior Scientist or Group Leader with strong, proven leadership skills. You have a proven track record of in vivo phamacology and drug expertise in the field of drug development.
You earned your merrits either in an academic research facility, or in a biotech or pharmaceutical company.
You are a specialist in the area of immunological / inflammatory diseases.
You have experience in moving projects from target validation to the PDC stage and beyond. Furthermore you have an understanding of PK / PD and know how to apply it to find the appropriate dose & to schedule for novel small molecule agents.
As you work in an international surrounding, your English is fluent but you are also commited to master German in a timely manner.
Operational duties:
- plan, lead, and manage the project work of the group
- provide overall strategic direction
- assure that projects are completed on budget, anticipated profit margins, and timely delivery of results are realised
- ensure a cost effective service to advance its competitive position in the market place
- supervise, co-ordinate and review the work of your reports
- ensure high research quality
- ensure a consistent level of technical expertise, customer focus, and operational delivery across the in vivo teams
- ensure continuous training of staff and compliance
Commercial duties:
- commitment towards improving and expanding business
- serve as an effecitve and responsible advocate for the business unit to internal and external clients
- interact with and support actively Business Development Managers on a regular basis on selected opportunities
- initiate the development and implementation of new or expanded technical capabilities that will impact future customer and research projects
- aim for unique technical capabilities and Unique Selling Points
- participate in key steering committees and customer presentations
